Playing with friends: how our room codes work
We wanted playing with a friend to be as simple as sending a number on WhatsApp.
Six digits, no accounts
None of our games need an account. To play together, one player creates a room and gets a six-digit code. The other player types it in. That is the whole process.
A small relay
Our server does not run the game for you. It pairs players by room code and passes their messages along. In two-player games, one device runs the match and the other follows it. In Dusk Ridge's 5v5 arena the server keeps the room, the score and the bots.
Rooms clean themselves up
Empty rooms expire, and a room closes when both players leave. We do not keep a history of matches.
